Orders conatining out of stock items usually ship in 7-10 days or sooner*

The Planted Seat Bracket is a vehicle specific bracket used as an adapter between the floor of the vehicle and an aftermarket seat and it's accessories. Because the floor of each vehicle varies and typically is not flat, a vehicle specific Seat Bracket is required for installing an aftermarket seat. We create each seat bracket using the floor of the vehicle as a reference. We literally bring each vehicle into our development center so we can create the best fitting, bolt in, universal seat bracket possible. For more specifics on installing a Planted Seat Bracket and what other components you may need please refer to our installation instructions and our Frequently Asked Questions section.
Bolt Pattern Options
Each seat bracket is pre-slotted with hole patterns to accept sliders from most major seat manufacturers like Braum, Bride*, Cipher Auto, Cobra**, Corbeau, Momo, NRG, OMP, Racetech, Recaro, Sabelt, Scheel-Mann***, Sparco, Status Racing, Takata and more. There is extra space on the bracket for drilling your own hole pattern if using a slider with a less common hole pattern, or direct mounting a seat or side mount when eliminating sliders is preferred.
We offer two different bolt pattern options:
Standard: Includes the Recaro slider bolt pattern but not the Cobra & Scheel-Mann slider bolt pattern.
Alternate: Replaces the Recaro silder bolt pattern with the Cobra & Scheel-Mann slider bolt pattern.
*Bride sliders are generally made to be vehicle specific so need to have the "feet" removed to make them "universal." Bride sliders typically require drilling a new hole pattern into the Planted Seat Bracket because they come in many different widths.
**Cobra sliders come in Narrow and Wide versions. The Wide version will require the "Alternate Bolt Pattern" option or elongating one hole on each slider by 1/8 Inch if using the "standard bolt pattern" option. The Narrow version slider requires no modification.
***Scheel-Mann sliders require the "Alternate Bolt Pattern" option or elongating one hole on each slider by 1/8 Inch if using the "standard bolt pattern" option.
Universal. Strong. Secure.
Planted Seat Brackets are laser cut from 3/16 inch thick steel and hand welded to ensure weld penetration for superior strength. They are finished with a black powder coat and applications are available for many vehicles, however Planted is continually looking for more vehicles to create brackets for. If you don't see your vehicle listed in the application guide please contact us and we'll add your vehicle to the vehicles wanted list.
Quality Assurance
Each Planted Seat Bracket goes through three levels of quality control to ensure our high standards are met.
All Planted Seat Brackets are hand welded in the USA.
We stand behind our products. If you have any issues or concerns please contact us.
Seats come in many different shapes and sizes so not all seats will fit in all vehicles. It is up to the end user to determine if the seat will fit prior to ordering the Seat Bracket and other components.
Many vehicles have the steering wheel offset toward the center of the vehicle. This can be accentuated when installing an aftermarket seat of a different size then the factory seat.
Replacing a factory seat with an aftermarket seat may cause the vehicle's warning indicators to activate. This can be due to airbag, weight and/or other sensors in the factory seat that are not included in an aftermarket seat. It may be possible to eliminate these indicators with an electronic resistor but it is up to the end user to determine if a resistor will work & which resistor to use.
Professional installation is recommended.

The Planted Technology seat base for the 2G Eclipse/Talon falls short of expectations. The frame and mounting holes are not properly centered with the steering wheel and pedals, meaning you'll need to determine the correct seating position yourself, measure, and drill new holes to achieve proper alignment.
Another major issue is the seating height. The base sits considerably higher than expected and doesn't seem to account for the additional height introduced by adjustable aftermarket seat brackets. Even with my brackets set to their lowest position, I'm essentially sitting directly on the base and the seating position is still too high—and I'm only 5'8".
Compatibility is another concern. The base is not compatible with Recaro or VAC seat brackets, which significantly limits your options when putting together an aftermarket seat setup.
Overall, the design feels like it could have benefited from more research and testing specifically for the 2G Eclipse/Talon platform, particularly regarding seating position, height, alignment, and compatibility with commonly used aftermarket components.
Based on my experience with this seat base, I won't be purchasing a set for my EVO.
Hi Bryan,
Thank you for your detailed feedback. We're sorry to hear the seat base didn't meet your expectations. We appreciate your insights about alignment, height, and compatibility. The next time we have a 1995-1999 Eclipse or Talon in our shop, we'll see if we can make any improvements to our design.
We would like to mention a few things about our design to explain why we made it the way we did.
During development we always attempt to center our seat brackets on the steering wheel. However, in many cases it's not possible because there just isn't enough room. Our seat brackets need to be 18.25 inches wide to accommodate different aftermarket seat widths, and we have to leave enough room on the inboard side (by the center console) for a seat belt receptacle. Sometimes this means that the seat bracket will not be perfectly centered on the wheel.
In many cases though, the OEM seats are not perfectly centered on the wheel to begin with. Often times the wheel will be offset toward the center of the car because it makes for a more ergonomic position as the driver looks over the hood toward the center of the car. This offset position can be more pronounced when installing a more rigid aftermarket seat, or a wider than OEM seat.
We also typically make our seat brackets as low as we can, but the seat bracket needs to be level so we may be limited by the position of the highest mounting point. In the case of this seat bracket, it's the front inboard mounting point that may prevent us from making the seat bracket lower.
As for compatibility; our seat brackets are pre-drilled with slotted holes to mate with most of the popular brands of sliders, including Recaro. However, because sliders have a different bolt pattern on the bottom (the side the bolts to the seat bracket) than the top (the side that bolts to the seat or side mounts), when you remove the sliders the bolt patterns on our seat bracket may not match the bottom of the seat or side mounts.
Mounting without sliders is called 'fix mounting' and does require drilling your own hole pattern in most cases. We describe this in our installation guide here: https://www.plantedtechnology.com/pages/installation-instructions
We hope this helps explain why we made some of the design choices we did. However, we are always looking for ways to improve our designs and we'll definitely take your feedback into account and see if we can improve this seat bracket application at our next opportunity with the vehicle.
If you have any additional questions or feedback please let us know.
Thank you!

2G DSM Eclipse Seat Brackets
I am currently running them with Evo 9 Recaro MR OEM Seats. Quality product. Passenger slider could need adjustment on mysid as it sticks a little, could be my error. I do enjoy the seating position as I am 5'6, the position puts me high but in a way where I feel I can access everything. However, I can't really fit inside with my helmet so when I install a cage I'm pretty sure I'll go with different Recaro's. Would be nice if they could maybe supply universal hardware for the seats to mate to the brackets.
